Thursday 3rd June
This morning our Blue-tits have fledged! They had grown very large and had to climb over each other to find room in the nest box! Thank you for watching our BirdCam - we are keeping our fingers crossed that our Birdbox will be used next year too!

The eggs hatched on Friday-we are not sure how many young there are but have counted at least 9. Blue-tits will stay in the nest for between 15 and 23 days before they fledge (fly away). We are expecting the chicks to remain in the nest, being fed by Mum and Dad, until at least Saturday 29th May but would expect them to fly away before Sunday 6th June. We hope you keep watching and are looking forward to your messages through 'Squawk back'.

At about 11 o'clock this morning the first egg hatched. The adult birds were busy feeding each other and their new family. By the end of the school day we think 6 of the 13 eggs had hatched. Please 'Squawk to Us' and tell us what you see as the Blue-tits look after their new family.

During a brief moment this morning, when the Blue-tit left her nest, I saw 13 eggs. We are expecting the eggs to hatch later this week - possibly between Wednesday and Sunday. Keep watching to see if you see the eggs hatching!

The Blue-tit has been sitting on her eggs today so I expect incubation has begun. Incubation lasts for between 12 and 16 days so we would expect the eggs to hatch between May 12th and May 16th. I think there are 9 eggs in the nest.

Late this afternoon there were 9 eggs laying in the nest. I wonder how many eggs our Blue-tit will lay? Keep watching, the Blue-tit may start incubating her eggs soon.

Our Blue-tit has been busy laying eggs. We think there may be 6 eggs in our bird box. Blue-tits lay between 5 and 16 eggs in a clutch. When the last egg has been laid incubation starts and the Blue-tit will be seen sitting on the eggs. Incubation lasts for between 12 and 16 days. The baby birds will stay in the nest until they fledge when they are 15-23 days old.
Keep visiting our bird-cam to see when incubation begins!
