Dig IT
'Dig It' is an exciting opportunity for Key Stage 2 pupils to investigate and write about the people and events associated with some of Kent's most famous historic sites. To support their learning pupils will have access to a range of historical artefacts and the opportunity to work with and web conference (using FlashMeeting) with staff from the Canterbury Archaeology Trust.

Dover Castle Writing Project
The project is an opportunity for Years 5 and 6 pupils to visit Dover Castle with Ian Coulson (ASK History Advisor) to investigate and learn about the famous ?Pike Man? and other famous "mythical" characters from the past.
Following the visit all pupils will use Flashmeeting (web conferencing) to interview English Heritage staff about these characters before writing their own horror and suspense stories about the Castle and its famous inhabitants.

Kent Birdwatch 2010
Kent Birdwatch 2010 is a "partnership project" involving The Advisory Service Kent Hands on Support ICT Team, The South East Grid for Learning, The RSPB and other Environmental Groups in the County.
Commencing in January 2010 the project is an opportunity for pupils to use ICT to record, publish and share, throughout the year, information about the different species of birds that visit our school grounds and other local habitats.

New Line Learning Academy
Key Stages 2 and 3 Transition
Years 10 and 11 EAL students have designed and created versions of their school prospectus in other languages for Year 6 pupils in Maidstone primary schools to view and read.
Supported by ASK EAL and MCAS Advisory Teachers this work will be shared at the Kent EAL Conference on November 19th 2009.

Nonington Village Study
The Nonington Village Study is an opportunity for Key Stage 2 pupils to use a range of ICT resources to gather, publish and share information about their village "Past, Preset and Future."
To promote the creative use of ICT during the project pupils will be using GPS data loggers to create their own "routes and journeys" and USB Graphics Pads to create their own landscape pictures of the village and surrounding countryside.

You are going to collect information for your graphic novel....... you will meet the feared Romney Marsh smuggler known as ?the Scarecrow?
?Your task is to gather evidence about smuggling, the Scarecrow and the Sandgate haul ? and use it to create a graphic novel. During the day, you will work in small groups. You will be set challenges and take part in activities that give you an insight into a grizzly historical mystery. Back in school you will use ICT to continue your research and publish a historical graphic novel about the gory incident involving Dr Syn and his smuggler crew!?

The Dover Boat Writing Project
The project is an opportunity for Key Stage 2 pupils to discover and write about life in Bronze Age Britain. To commence the project pupils from schools in the Deal and Sandwich Cluster will have the opportunity to visit an dview the Bronze Age Boat displayed at Dover Museum. Following the visit the pupils will be challenged to write their own story about the boat and to explain how it came to be found in a creek just outside the port of Dover. This site contains all the resources to support schools and partnerships who plan to repeat this project.
